Comprehensive Eye Exams

Eye Exams are not only for vision correction. Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms, so you might not know a problem exists. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems can help prevent vision loss. All of our comprehensive eye exams include an eye health evaluation, testing for glaucoma, visual acuity and refraction, along with further testing as indicated.

Emergency & Urgent Care

Emergency and Urgent Care evaluation is available if you experience any of the following: sudden vision loss, swelling, bleeding, or pain in your eye.

Contact Lens Exams

If you wear or want contacts, you will need a contact lens exam in addition to a comprehensive eye exam. Dr. Josephs will perform special tests during a contact lens exam to evaluate your vision with contacts.

Visual Field Testing

A visual field test can help Dr. Josephs find early signs of diseases that damage vision gradually. Some people do not notice any problems with their vision, but the visual field test shows that peripheral vision is being lost. A visual field test measures two things: how far up, down, left and right the eye sees without moving and how sensitive the vision is in different parts of the visual field.

Ocular Disease Management

Dr. Josephs is able to diagnose and treat a variety of eye health conditions, including but not limited to: dry eyes, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, keratoconus, strabismus, conjunctivitis, floaters, and cataracts.

Foreign Body Removal

Dr. Josephs is able to safely remove foreign objects from the eye (metal, glass, wood, plastic, sand.) If foreign bodies are not removed in a timely manner, they can cause prolonged pain and lead to complications such as infection.
